Permethrin 5% lotion is used for treating scabies in adults and in children of more than 2 months. Over the counter, permethrin is used for the treatment of lice i.e, small insects that attach themselves to the skin on the head. It comes in the category of medicine called scabicides and pediculicides. It kills the mites and lice.

Permethrin lotion is applied to the scalp and hair. Make sure that the lotion did not come in contact with your eyes, nose, ears and mouth. In case it gets in your eyes then wash it right away. Follow the instructions written on the product and consult with your doctor before using it. Don’t use it more or less as it can increase the side effects on your body.
